Since the early nineties, the preserved palm tree has been used in major commercial locations worldwide including top restaurants, Hotels, Casinos, airports, office towers and more. The palm fronds and bark components are harvested from a live palm farm harvesting facility. The fronds are carefully cut and taken from the live trees, then sent to a preserving facility to be internally treated with a proprietary organic formula in which each cut frond stem will remain upright directly in the preservation liquid. Via photosynthesis, each frond will absorb the liquid all the way to the top of the frond. This process usually takes about 2 weeks. Once absorbed, the fronds are then placed upside down to dry which take another 2 to 3 weeks.

Date Fronds
Each frond will remain preserved anywhere from 6 to 8 years. All of our preserved fronds include internal fire retardant within the preserving formulation. The bark, which is also harvested, is then carefully assembled onto a steel pipe in a manner that mimics the way a live palm grows.
The palm bark is natural and is not preserved in any way. It is hand placed strategically by trained craftsman (piece by piece) on to a steel pipe and backfilled with high-density foam. The top of every trunk has a specially designed steel receiver head with receptacles (holes) used to insert and support the preserved fronds. The steel receptacle holes are covered and camouflaged with palm bark hair fiber.

Steel Base Plate for Palm support
Every steel receiver head is custom built with welded receptacles. Finally, a steel base plate receiver with a protruding steel center pipe is specially built to slide the trunk into as a support system. For taller palms, these base plates can be directly bolted to a concrete slab floor.
